A Manchester Asian bakery has gone into liquidation, resulting in the loss of 18 jobs.

Euro Bakery, which supplies naans, parathas, rotis and other bakery products to retailers such as Tesco, Morrisons and Home Bargains, fell into cash flow problems after a period of expansion, and ceased trading earlier this month.

Eighteen redundancies have been made as a result, and Inquesta insolvency practitioners are currently trying to recover money for creditors.

Steven Wiseglass, director at Inquesta, said: “Euro Bakery tried to trade through its difficulties, but ultimately it became untenable for the business to continue to operate, which has regrettably resulted in 18 redundancies.”

The bakery was fined £5,000 in 2009, after Manchester City Council found fresh rat droppings in the building.
