Following the first site opening of the Lola’s Bakery concept in West Hampstead, managing director Asher Budwig tells British Baker he would like to see 20-30 stores in London.

British Baker visited the new bakery, which specialises in gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and refined sugar free products, to discuss with Budwig the reasons for opening up the site and his plans for future expansion of the brand.

“We certainly see Lola’s Bakery has an avenue for growth for our company,” Budwig tells British Baker. “We have an idea of where we would like to be in London and wider. It may take us quite a few years to get where we would like to be.”

Budwig also revealed he believes Lola’s Bakery could be developed globally, following the success of the company’s Lola’s Cupcakes brand in Asia and the Middle East.

“I think there is a possibility to build the company globally,” he added. “The brand does have international recognition as we have stores in Dubai, Tokyo and Bahrain. I think they would be very interested in opening a Lola’s Bakery there.”
