GF Foods bags free-from deal with Ocado

30 May, 2012

Gluten Free Foods has struck up a new deal with online food retailer Ocado to stock its range of savoury pastry products and festive cupcakes.

The Selby-based bakery manufacturer’s Feel Free range will be available from Wednesday (30 May), including individually-wrapped savoury pies, quiches and sausage rolls.

The company has secured an additional listing with Ocado for its festive cupcakes range of iced fairy cakes in packs of four, which have been targeted at such events as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Sally Allister, managing director of GF Foods, said: “We are really pleased that Ocado would like to stock our Feel Free Freedom range, in particular because the products are chilled, as there is very little choice currently.

“Feel Free has found most of its success to date in frozen products. However, the market is growing and, with that, the need for different products to meet the demands of people with busy and hectic lifestyles.”

GF Foods was set up in 2004 by Allister, who suffers with an intolerance to gluten and wheat, and supplies its free-from products to UK supermarkets and wholesalers.
