Smith, who joined the Crewe-based company in 2003 as Wrights Pies purchase ledger supervisor, said she was “‘relishing this new challenge”.
She has previously implemented the food producer’s auto-enrolment pension scheme for the 430 employees.
She said: “Being made financial director and joining the board is a key achievement for me, and I’m relishing this new challenge.
“I’m looking forward to helping Wrights Food Group continue to grow and develop, while at the same time maintaining its hard-earned reputation for high-quality products.”
Peter Wright, chairman and chief executive, said: “Lisa is a dedicated, meticulous and valued member of our team, who has made a hugely significant contribution to the expansion of the business over the past 10 years.
“We’re delighted to welcome her to the board of directors, and I know everyone here will be very supportive of Lisa in this strategically important role.”
Wrights creates a range of pies, as well as other savouries, cakes and desserts.
