Aldi, the German discounter, is proclaiming its success at the British Baker Christmas Stars 2015 awards.
The company won five of the six categories at the August event, including Best Christmas Cake and Best Christmas Mince Pie. Four other products also achieved ‘Highly Recommended’ status.
Aldi is now trumpeting its success in its Christmas advertising campaign, including featuring the Christmas Stars logos on a double-page spread in The Times which carries the strapline: “Why have an average Christmas…when you can have an award-winning one?”.
Martyn Leek, editor of British Baker, said: "All the products that were awarded a Christmas Star were worthy winners. We’re in for a great Christmas after tasting these products. Aldi should be rightly proud of the quality of some of its baked goods this festive season and it is right it is telling the world how good they are."
The Christmas Stars awards are run by British Baker, the leading industry title for the UK baking industry. The full list of winners can be seen on the Christmas Stars website.
