Yesterday, (11 May) Craft Bakers Association (CBA) president David Smart gave an impassioned defence of artisan bread on BBC Radio 5 Live and ITV’s This Morning, and the nation loved it.

Social media was abuzz yesterday (11 May) with talk of shunning supermarket bread, supporting local bakers and real bread. And all thanks to David Smart, president of the CBA and managing director of Greenhalgh’s in Bolton.
