The 2013 Great British Bake Off (GBBO) winner Frances Quinn has created a range of different flavoured jaffa cakes for Rutland-based Hambleton Bakery.
Quinn, who became known on the BBC show for her innovative and creative bakes, launched her first products under her brand name Quinntessential, in Hambleton’s stores last month.
Her favourite piece in the new jaffa cake range is a rhubarb & custard version, which uses seasonal rhubarb jelly and a vanilla bean white chocolate coating.
Hambleton is supplying the range in its six bakeries across Rutland, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
Hambleton’s master baker Julian Carter said: “We are passionate about our products, which are made in the traditional way, with good-quality local ingredients. It’s wonderful to have Frances Quinn’s support in raising our profile locally and nationally and telling a wider audience what we do here.
“We felt she could add some of her creative energy to our continual search for new bakes and could help us communicate the health and taste benefits of our bread.”
Quinn recently broke a world record by producing the world’s largest jaffa cake at Hambleton Bakery’s Exton headquarters.
“Working with such a great brand locally has been really inspiring,” said Quinn. “I love what Hambleton Bakery do and the craft and passion that go into the bakes they produce.”
