WD Systems has unveiled a modular spiral conveyer system that it claims eliminates issues around cleaning and maintenance.
It is targeting bakeries looking for a “flexible, cost-effective” alternative to batch cooling with the new Spir-O-Trak system, which features the drive train on the outer edge of the belt and removes the need for a central drive cage.
West Sussex-based WD Systems said removing the central cage enabled the system to be configured in many different formats tailored to suit the factory space available. It also offers increased accessibility for cleaning, with many traditional ‘bug-trap’ areas of standard spiral systems designed out of the Spir-O-Trak.
The modular nature of the system enables bespoke solutions, with lease hire options available, added WD Systems.
The edge-drive Spir-O-Trak system will replace WD’s former Spir-O-Trak equipment.
