Roberts Bakery is to host ‘high tea’ in a pop-up restaurant suspended above Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.
For one day only, the Cheshire-based family bakery brand will partner with Events in the Sky to host the dining experience 100ft in the air on Thursday 19 October.
Twenty-two guests will enjoy a spread made with its latest products, including its Gin & Tonic Fun Buns, Fiery Corn Ready-to Rolls and others yet to be launched.
The restaurant comprises a single table hoisted into the air, which can seat 22 guests a time. Each will be securely fastened into their seats before the platform is raised from the ground and their high-flying afternoon tea experience begins.
The bakery brand claimed this was the first-ever high altitude dining event to be held in the north west of England.
Roberts is giving away five invitations for those who would like to attend the event next week. Applicants must apply via Roberts Bakery’s website before midnight on Sunday 15 October 2017.
“It’s a hugely exciting time for us as a brand and what better way to bring our fresh new positioning and sensational new products to life than with an afternoon tea party in the sky,” said Roberts Bakery’s managing director Stuart Spencer-Calnan.
“We’re inviting guests to enjoy a totally different and unique experience - enjoying the most al fresco afternoon tea, made from our delicious new bakery products, at a seriously high altitude. It’s set to be simply breathtaking, with spectacular views of the city.”
