An Indian breads supplier has secured a £150k contract with Asda in Scotland for its naan breads.
Edinburgh-based Mrs Unis Spicy Foods, which already supplies the retailer’s 61 Scottish outlets with handmade pakoras, will now see four of its naan breads listed: Keema Naan, Cheese & Coriander Naan, Meetha Naan and Chicken Tikka & Coriander Naan.
The contracts with Asda have allowed the firm to grow its business from a small shop in Stockbridge to a complete factory unit, also increasing its workforce by 150%, from 18 to 45.
Shaheen Unis, owner of Mrs Unis Spicy Foods told The Herald newspaper that the company was looking forward to some exciting expansion plans, thanks to Asda’s help.
