Asda has launched a vegan food-to-go range featuring a new wrap and sandwich.
Available now for £2.50 each, the range of vegan products include an onion bhaji wrap and a falafel & houmous sandwich, which have been accredited by the Vegan Society.
Asda has claimed the new range is one of the cheapest vegan food-to-go options on the market and aims to fill the gap for great-value, tasty options for those living a plant-based lifestyle.
The retailer is extending its plant-based offering for consumers after launching vegan mince pies over the festive period.
“We’ve introduced a range that not only answers the dietary needs of the nation, but also turns favourite foods to vegan-friendly, on-the-go options,” said Asda innovations chef Andrew Johnston. “Our new range ensures easy eating at any time, and delivers a punch of vibrant flavour in each bite.”
Asda said it would continue expanding its vegan ‘repertoire’ throughout 2018, with several innovative products currently in the pipeline.
