Scottish pastry manufacturer Bells Food Group has introduced two new pies to take advantage of the seasonal sales spike.
Available in supermarkets throughout Scotland, the new products are an Aberdeen Angus Steak Pie and Hogmanay Steak Pie. Both contain select cuts of beef and rich gravy, and are hand finished with Bells’ Puff Pastry.
Bells said the Aberdeen Angus Steak Pie is perfect for families this Christmas, while the Hogmanay Steak Pie is a hearty way “to bring in the bells”.
“Our new steak pies are perfect for sharing with family at Christmas and Hogmanay. Steak pies remain at the heart of the Scottish dinner table, and Bells is a brand loved throughout Scotland,” said Bells Food Group’s director of sales and marketing Gordon Smith.
In anticipation of the festive period, the firm has taken on 20 additional staff members to keep up with demand.
In September, Bells created a new arm of the business dedicated to the manufacture and supply of pastry. Called Bells Professional Pastry, the division has been launched to provide an “added value pastry offering to food manufacturers wholesalers, bakeries and butchers”.
The move followed a £3.6m investment to double Bells’ pastry production capacity to 150 tonnes per week.
