Border Biscuits, the Scottish Premium biscuit manufacturer, has added a Dark Chocolate Ginger variety to its Mini Pack range.
The biscuits are made with Nigerian ginger and covered in dark chocolate, and are aimed at the foodservice and catering markets. The packs, which each contain two biscuits, are being sold nationally through wholesalers in boxes of 48.
Lesley Ann Gray, brand and marketing manager at Border Biscuits, said: “Recent Kantar [Worldpanel] data shows that our Dark Chocolate Gingers are the nation’s favourite chocolate ginger biscuit, and we produce over 20 million every year.
“We hope that the addition of our best-selling variety will further boost sales of Mini Packs, which continue to go from strength to strength, reporting a 21% increase in volume and 20% increase in value. We have invested in the Mini Pack range with a trade advertising campaign to ensure high visibility and awareness of the product, making it a must-stock range.”
Border Biscuits’ Mini Pack range already features Viennese Whirl, Divinely Choc Chip Cookie, Crunchy Oat Crumble, Butterscotch Crunch and Choc Chip Shortbread varieties, and the company claims to sell over 26 million packs every year.
