Burton’s Biscuit Company has extended its savoury snacks portfolio with a festive option in the run-up to Christmas.
Turkey ‘n’ Chips is being offered in a 170g sharing caddy format in cases of 12, with an MRSP of £3. The new item will join Burton’s savoury range from October to December under the company’s £19.1m Fish ‘n’ Chips brand (MAT July 2016).
The turkey and chip shaped pieces will be offered in the same newsprint packaging in the Fish ‘n’ Chops range.
David Costello, head of category and shopper management at Burton’s Biscuit Company said: “In less than three years, Burton’s Fish ’n’ Chips has reached a nearly £20m brand value, with penetration at 12.9%, putting it within the top 5% of the best-performing launches within snacks, crisps and nuts in the past five years [Kantar total market, August 2016].
“With the launch of Turkey ‘n’ Chips we’re working with retailers to drive sales of savoury biscuits during the Christmas period, while the sharing caddy format appeals to shoppers looking to stock up for festive parties and family gatherings."
In September Burton’s revealed new snack packs for its Jammie Dodgers range.
