Egg-free cake supplier Cake Box has opened a new store in Slough, using a £123,000 funding package from HSBC.
The new shop is the second owned by franchisee Rick Bhambra and the second Cake Box in the Slough area, with the other based in the town centre.
Bhambra used the funding package from HSBC to refurbish the rented unit on Langley High Street, the opening of which has created five new jobs for the area.
“I’m incredibly excited to have opened my second Cake Box. I have a real passion for business and am delighted to add another franchise to my portfolio,” said Bhambra.
“There has been a huge rise in the popularity of free-from products and it’s something that is becoming more in demand from customers. We are really pleased to be supplying Langley locals with the choice to go egg-free.”
Last year, it was revealed that Cake Box’s sales had risen 44% year on year in the six months to 30 September. The egg-free cake supplier was also recognised as one of the 100 fastest-growing companies by turnover in the UK in the 2018 Sunday Times Virgin 100 Fast Track league table.
