Mo’s Cookie Dough, the chilled cookie dough producer, has temporarily withdrawn its products due to a labelling issue.

The Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal and Raisin and Gingerbread lines have been pulled because the ingredients list does not say that wheat is the cereal used to make the flour component, potentially putting those with wheat or gluten intolerance at risk.

Mo’s, which currently supplies Whole Foods and Ocado, as well as selected Waitrose, Booths and Asda stores, said the problem had been solved and that products should be back in-store by next week.

Morag Pavich, the company founder, said: “This is a voluntary withdrawal, we’ve worked with the Food Standards Agency and our suppliers on this.”

She added that Mo’s had the full support of its retailers and that she had been told labelling problems were a common issue among young businesses.
