Costa reveals festive bakery items for Christmas 2023

A pigs-in-blankets toastie and vegan Christmas cake slice are among the new products being rolled out on Costa Coffee’s festive menu.

Available from 2 November, the 2023 Christmas range also features new drinks including Sticky Toffee and Roasted Hazel flavours.

The coffee giant has embraced seasonal flavours for its sweet offering with lashings of chocolate, gingerbread, and sticky toffee, while the sandwiches feature classic yuletide fare such as turkey, stuffing, and pigs in blankets.

“We’re thrilled to introduce our enchanting and cosy new festive menu,” said Costa food innovation director Naomi Matthews. “As we embrace the magic of the festivities, our delightful new products and returning favourites hope to add some joy to the season.”

Pigs & Blankets Toastie

This toastie sees pork sausage and maple cured bacon, with caramelised onion chutney in garlic, tucked into onion & sage crumbed cheese-topped bread. 

Honey Roast Ham and Wensleydale Ciabatta

Costa has given the classic ham & cheese sandwich a festive makeover by replacing white sliced bread with a cranberry ciabatta. The roll is filled with British honey-roast ham and Wensleydale cheese, mature Cheddar, and honey and béchamel sauce.

Vegan Turkey and Trimmings Toastie

Vegans aren’t left out of the Christmas sandwich fun as Costa is serving up a vegan-friendly alternative to the classic turkey sandwich. This iteration has vegan turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce, vegan mayonnaise and vegan gravy in toasted white bread.

Brie, Bacon & Cranberry Panini

The Brie, Bacon & Cranberry Panini (main image above), Brie & Cranberry Toastie, Turkey & Trimmings Toastie, and Turkey Feast Sandwich are among the savoury products returning to Costa this year.

Sausage Roll

Costa has spruced up the humble sausage roll for Christmas. The festive version has seasoned pork sausage meat, pulled pork and Bramley apples in an all-butter puff pastry topped with a pastry star.

Belgian Chocolate Ganache Cake

Chocolate cake remains a popular choice all year round. Costa has given its rich chocolate cake with chocolate frosting a sprinkling of Christmas magic with the addition of edible golden stars.

Sticky Toffee Loaf Cake

Sticky toffee continues to dominate the festive season. This toffee-flavoured sponge cake is topped with caramel frosting, caramel drizzle and fudge pieces.

Christmas Cake Slice

Suitable for vegans, this offers a rich fruit cake base topped with a layer of marzipan and white icing.

Festive biscuits

You can’t go wrong with gingerbread at Christmas. Costa’s version is decorated to look like a polar bear wearing a jumper. It’s joined by a Christmas tree shortcake biscuit.

Sticky Toffee Latte and new Sticky Toffee Iced Latte

Both drinks feature a sticky toffee flavoured sauce, topped with Light Whip, drizzled with more sauce and finished with a bronze shimmery dusting.

Roasted Hazel Latte and Roasted Hazel Hot Chocolate

Both drinks offer a flavourful roasted hazelnut syrup, topped with light whip, and completed with a bronzed shimmer and mini gold stars.
