Falafal Chipotle Hot Pocket

Creams Cafe has unveiled an alternative to its usual line-up of sweet treats with the launch of new savoury filled crêpes.

A four-strong range of Hot Pockets are now available across its chain of around 100 stores in the UK. Creams said these items are ‘championing great taste that is even better value for money’ as they cost just £6.75 (dine-in and takeaway) for each ‘hearty sized portion’.

The range includes:

  • BBQ Chicken Hot Pocket – a warm crêpe parcel stuffed with BBQ chicken, cheese, and vegetables, topped with Creams Signature sauce and dried parsley
  • Spicy Sriracha Chicken Hot Pocket – a crispy pocket packed with spicy Sriracha chicken, cheese, and veggies, finished with Creams Signature sauce, dried parsley, and paprika
  • Chicken Fiesta Crunch Pocket – a mix of chicken, cheese, jalapeños, and tortilla chips in a crêpe, topped with Creams Signature sauce and crispy fried onions
  • Falafel Chipotle Hot Pocket – this vegetarian option is filled with falafel, vegetables, cheese, and chipotle mayo, topped with Creams Signature sauce and paprika.

The dessert parlour noted that its new savoury offering had been created with consumers in mind, in particular those ‘dragged into Creams by their sweet-seeking friends and family’. The brand is better known for its range of gelatos, shakes, waffles, and puddings.

Creams claimed its hot pockets are ideal for everyone from office goers, busy mums, on-the-go dads and students needing a pick me up earlier in the day. They can be grabbed with a morning coffee, savoured over a lunch break, enjoyed as the perfect mid-morning snack, or a more relaxed weekend midday treat for all the family, it added.

Founded in 2008 in Southall, West London by Adam Mani and Balal Aqil, Creams has grown to become the UK’s biggest dessert restaurant brand. It operates primarily as a franchise business, working with over 30 partners who have multiple locations.

In latest accounts filed to Companies House for the year ended 31 March 2023, Creams Cafe Ltd posted revenue of £10.7m compared to £12.1m from the prior financial period (which was over 15 months). It increased its gross margin from 60.9% to 63.5%. Despite recording net losses of £1.4m in both of the previous two financial years, Creams said its operational adjustments have the potential to steer it towards profitability and growth.
