Bakery ingredients and finished goods supplier Dawn Foods has unveiled four new frozen cookie pucks.
Designed to be baked off as retailers and caterers need them, the pucks have been developed to tap trends including fruit and chocolate combinations, and coffee culture-inspired flavours.
The new pucks are:
- Blueberry, Banana & White Chocolate Cookie – described as ideal for serving at breakfast.
- Chocolate & Lime Cookie – made using a lime flavour cookie dough and containing white and milk chocolate chunks.
- Apple & Cinnamon Cookie – with a lightly spiced dough, raisins and apple.
- Caramel Latte Cookie – filled with salted caramel fudge pieces and a caramel latte flavour.
“The combination of fruit and chocolate is very popular; chocolate adds indulgence to a product with the fruit content adding many of the sweet tones,” explained Dawn Foods marketing manager Jacqui Passmore.
“Tastes are evolving and consumers are acquiring the taste for different levels and sources of sweetness in bakery products.”
Passmore added that flavours such as caramel latte would appeal to younger consumers “for whom coffee culture and the associated terms are now part of everyday life”.
