Dawn Foods has launched three frozen sweet bakery products for the foodservice breakfast market.
The trio comprises a Williams Pear & Chocolate Muffin, a Breakfast Muffin and a Banana, Vanilla & Chocolate Cookie Puck.
Dawn said the Williams Pear & Chocolate Muffin (pictured) tapped consumer interest in heritage flavours and provenance ingredients, with pear pieces, pear jam and plain chocolate chunks in Dawn’s signature muffin mix.
The Breakfast Muffin, meanwhile, is aimed at those looking for a healthier breakfast. It contains apricot pieces, dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds with an apricot jam and granola topping.
The Vanilla & Chocolate Cookie Puck capitalises on the trend for fruit and chocolate pairings, according to Dawn. It features dark chocolate chunks with natural banana purée and vanilla.
All three products are made with natural flavours. The muffins do not contain palm oil, while the cookie puck is made with RSPO-certified palm oil.
Last month research from analyst MCA revealed growth in the sweet and savoury bakery at breakfast, but noted a decline in snacking occasions featuring sweet baked goods.
