Unilever Food Solution’s Big School Bake Off has urged aspiring bakers to get their entries in before the deadline closes this Friday (26 May 2017).
The competition is open to all school caterers nationwide and applicants will have the chance to win prizes and put their baking skills to the test.
Entries must be submitted on the Unilever website by choosing and uploading an image of the applicant’s best bake, as well as 50 words describing the product along with its recipe.
Sarah Levenson, 2016 Big School Bake Off champion and catering manager at Lordsgate Township CofE Primary School, Lancashire, said that for any school cook who loves to bake, she would recommend entering.
“Winning Big School Bake Off 2016 was an incredible experience,” Levenson said. “Not just for me, but for the whole school. I enjoyed every minute of the competition.”
All entries should include at least 50% fruit aligning with the School Food Standards in England. An expert judging panel will select 12 finalists – one from each Lead Association for Catering in Education (LACA) region to compete in the live final at the LACA main event on 6 July 2017.
