Irish puff pastry company Golden Bake has launched its first range of vegan products.
The line-up comprises a Vegan Sausage Roll made with a herb-infused soy protein filling and a Vegan Curried Cauliflower & Sweet Potato Mini Jambon.
They are available now to the foodservice industry, with Golden Bake planning to launch a consumer-facing retail pack in December.
Golden Bake said it was focussed on the future, recognising the “growing appeal” of the vegetarian and vegan diet.
“Our goal is to do what we do best – which is to create delicious, convenient pastry products – for all our customers, including those who are moving towards a plant-based diet, or who simply want to cut back on meat” CEO Robin Jones added.
A number of pastry product manufacturers have rolled out vegan NPD this month. Ginsters partnered with Quorn for a vegan take on a Cornish Pasty, while Walls launched its first range of vegan rolls.
