West-Sussex-based pastries supplier Higgidy is set to launch its first vegan roll ahead of Veganuary.
The vegetarian pastry brand will be expanding its plant-based range this January to include the Miso Mushroom Vegan Roll and limited-edition Aubergine & Spinach Masala pie.
Its new vegan rolls combine chestnut and porcini mushroom, pearl barley and spring onion, miso and soy, wrapped in a vegan puff pastry and hand-topped with crispy kale seaweed crumb.
Consumers can find a six-pack for £2.60 in Waitrose from 30 December, Sainsbury’s from 1 January and Ocado from 13 January. A twin-pack format is also available in Boots from 30 December.
The Indian-style Aubergine & Spinach Masala vegan pie will contain aubergine, red lentils and spinach, cumin, chilli and garam masala, enclosed in a hand-folded vegan shortcrust pastry and hand-topped with a puffed rice, date and pumpkin seed crumb.
It will be available for £3.90 in Waitrose from 30 December and Sainsbury’s from 1 January.
