Irwin’s Bakery has expanded its range with two new artisan loaves, including a sourdough.
The Artisan range from the Portadown-based business consists of Irwin’s Sourdough, a sourdough batched wrapped bread, and Irwin’s Seeds & Grains, a malted bread with wheat flakes and a blend of crunchy seeds.
Available across Northern Ireland, the loaves have secured listings in Tesco, Dunnes, Food Force Ireland, Mace, Nisa, Spar, Supervalu and Sainsbury’s with an RSP of £1.25-£1.50.
The range reflects consumer demand for innovative products created using traditional baking methods, according to Irwin’s.
“Through our new Artisan range, we are able to offer consumers two unique products, which showcase our distinctive fermentation and batch bread baking process – hand-moulded and baked on the sole of the oven,” said Colette Wilson, head of marketing, Irwin’s Bakery.
“As we continue to invest in new product development, the new range reflects our aim to create a harmony between time-honoured traditions and current food trends. The Artisan range gives shoppers the opportunity to trade up to more premium breads – especially around eating occasions such as a weekend brunch.”
It follows the launch of Irwin’s lower-calorie bread, called Better For You, earlier this year.
