Finsbury Food Group’s foodservice brand Kara has introduced a new range of traybakes and mallow bombes to the market.
Following the launch of twelve 10-inch round cakes to the market in January this year, the new pre-portioned traybakes, introduced under the Indulgent Cake Collection, include new and unique flavours and popular classics, as well as two Thorntons Caramel Shortcakes in chocolate and white chocolate versions.
Classic cake options include Indulgent Chocolate Brownie and Elegant Caramel Shortbread, with more on-trend flavour combinations such as Speculass Spiced Brownie and Dreamy Coconut & Raspberry Slice.
The two mallow bombes are in lemon & white chocolate or chocolate & orange flavours.
All the traybakes are packed in specially designed sleeves and frozen to lock in the freshness, allowing units to be individually defrosted, maximising portion control, according to the company.
Kara marketing manager Jane Deegan said: “The sliced cakes are a great addition to the Indulgent Cake Collection and all come ready portioned. As industry research has shown, just this year alone, coffee shops have accounted for 15% of total consumer eating out visits, which is forecast to continue to grow by 6.5% by the end of 2016, so the introduction of Kara sliced cakes comes at a great time.”
In August, Kara added two new flavours to its indulgent cake line.
