Foodservice brand Kara has launched a range of pastry, Danish and Viennoiserie under the name La Boulangerie des Gourmets.
Kara, owned by Fletchers Group of Bakeries, has introduced the range with 14 products, including mini and full-size croissants, pains au chocolat and filled croissants, to cinnamon whirls, maple pecan plaits and raspberry custard crowns.
The launch aims to make the most of the growing market for upgraded pastry products that enables out-of-home operators to premiumise their offer.
Chara Pantazi, Kara Foodservice marketing manager, said: “According to our research the consumption of pastry products in the UK has been steadily rising over the past few years. Consumers are showing a growing interest in pastry and the lunch and snacking consumption of such products is driving the growth. La Boulangerie des Gourmets is an established brand in Europe and we are happy to introduce it in the British foodservice market and give our customers the opportunity to serve fresh-from-the-oven products throughout the day.”
The range targets customers in quick-service coffee and bakery outlets, as well as in-store pubs and restaurants.
