Kara, the foodservice brand of the Finsbury Food Group, has launched a new range of artisan breads.
The company, which supplies bakery products to the foodservice industry, continued to develop on the success of recent ‘premium’ offerings, with its new artisanal bread range.
This follows the 2015 launch of its ‘premium floured baps’, part of the company’s Ultimate Floured range – aimed at the out-of-home vendors, to allow them to upgrade their offer without increasing filling spend. The company also released a range of pastry, Danish and Viennoiserie under the name La Boulangerie des Gourmets in June of last year.
The new range includes six new artisan breads – three sourdoughs, a handcrafted tiger bread, and two Vogel seeded loaves, developed “to tap into market demands for premium food carriers and enabling out-of-home (OOH) vendors to upgrade their offerings.”
Chris Haddy, foodservice commercial controller at Kara, said: “The launch of the artisan bread range continues to expand our premium bakery offerings. It includes six unique products, all produced with the finest ingredients at our craft bakery, Nicholas & Harris, located in Wiltshire.
“Nicholas & Harris can trace its roots back to the 1830s, so has more than 175 years of baking tradition. Its workforce now includes more than 30 professional bakers, and its expertise in baking artisan bread is unrivalled.”
