Scottish cake manufacturer Kirriemuir, which is part of the Bells Food Group, will expand its Signature Gingerbread cake range with two new variants that will appeal to the export market.
The new additions include Scottish Heather Honey Gingerbread Cake and Whisky Gingerbread Cake, which will be launched to an international audience at some of the largest trade fairs for cakes, such as ISM in Cologne, Germany.
Gordon Smith, director of sales and marketing of Kirriemuir, said that Kirriemuir Signature Gingerbread is an internationally loved brand with a great story to tell.
“The new premium variants provide a twist on traditional Scottish recipes and enhance the delicious, moreish range,” he said. “There’s a large consumer demand for Scottish food products, particularly with the export market. We are keen that more overseas consumers get to taste the delicious ‘Wee Slice of Scotland’ that is Kirriemuir.”
Kirriemuir Gingerbread was originally crafted in the town of Kirriemuir, Scotland by a baker named Walter Burnett.
