Krispy Kreme has estimated it gave out around 1m doughnuts worldwide, in a one-day-only promotion to celebrate the opening of its 1,000th store.
The doughnut giant opened the landmark store in Kansas City, USA, and is celebrating its worldwide success by giving away Original Glazed doughnuts in stores all over the globe, throughout yesterday (24 February).
Judith Denby, chief marketing officer, said: “We are extremely proud of this milestone and are looking forward to sharing this joyful occasion with all of our UK fans.”
The doughnuts were given away from Krispy Kreme stores in 24 countries worldwide.
The company has also recently launched a limited-edition Reese’s Peanut Butter doughnut, available in stores only.
