Independent cake manufacturer Love Rouge Bakery is launching a range of frozen cakes.
Working in partnership with York-based wholesaler Miller Foodservice, Love Rouge Bakery will bake and freeze cakes at its site in Leeds, before passing them on for distribution by Miller. The cakes will be available to order from the wholesaler’s product brochure.
Love Rouge Bakery was established in 2011 as a cake shop, and has evolved into the wholesale sector, which it said had been a great success. It supplies a range of outlets from local councils to independent cafés with a variety of ambient products.
Prior to its new frozen range and partnership with Miller Foods, the cake business offered daily deliveries within Leeds, Harrogate and York. With the new deal, it hopes to provide products to outlets across Yorkshire.
“We’ve seen great success since concentrating solely on the wholesale market but have always been limited geographically and by our shorter shelf life compared to our competitors,” said Rebecca Fowler, owner of Love Rouge Bakery.
“By working with Miller Foods, we hope to offer a more convenient product range which still has the same taste and distinctive look.”
