Mondelēz International has unveiled the Cadbury Roundie for UK consumers - the first Cadbury biscuit launch since it bought the license to produce them from Burton’s Biscuit Company in August 2016.
Rolling out now for £1.99, the Cadbury Roundie will be available in multipacks of three variants, including dark chocolate, caramel wafer and milk chocolate. The milk chocolate version is also available in a single format for £0.65.
The launch will be supported by a brand new TV campaign and in-store activity.
“The new biscuit delivers a unique multi-textural experience and is perfect for snacking occasions across the day through its single and multipack formats,” said Chiara Missio, marketing manager for Cadbury Biscuits.
“Britain is a nation of biscuit-lovers, being the third-biggest consumer of biscuits in the world (Euromonitor Packaged Food Database 2015), and there’s an appetite for new varieties. Using our expertise and heritage in biscuit-making, our vision for Cadbury Biscuits is to bring more moments of joy for biscuit-lovers across Britain. Cadbury Roundie is our first step towards this.”
Mondelēz last year acquired the licence to produce Cadbury biscuits for a fee thought to be around £200m.
