Oatcake manufacturer Nairn’s has hired Scott McPherson as a national account manager to help drive sales in the convenience and wholesale sector.
McPherson previously worked at Kellogg’s and Kepak, during which time he focused on the wholesale channels for each brand.
“Scott has been closely involved in this channel for a number of years and so has a real understanding of not just the customer but also the consumer needs,” a Nairn’s spokesperson told British Baker.
“Allied to this he will be involved in influencing the Nairn’s strategy and product offering for wholesale and convenience.”
As part of this, Nairn’s is rolling out price-marked packs of its Rough and Fine Milled oatcakes which come with a £1 price flash in the corner – a tactic often used by brands in the convenience sector.
In recent years, the brand has been concentrating heavily on NPD with the likes of Super Seeded Oatcakes and a raft of gluten-free options after it opened a £6.5m factory for their manufacturer.
