Warburtons’ Newburn Bakehouse brand is launching its seeded sandwich thins in Tesco this month.
The range from the gluten- and wheat-free bakery will be available from 550 Tesco stores from 27 January.
Other products currently stocked by Tesco include its three-pack white wraps, 400g sliced brown bread, two-pack blueberry & cranberry muffins, white chocolate & raspberry muffins, lemon & poppyseed muffins, 600g seeded loaf, and two-pack white baguettes.
The company’s white thins will be stocked in Asda stores from 10 February this year.
Chris Hook, director of Newburn Bakehouse, said: “2013 was a significant year for the gluten- and wheat-free market. With 13% of the population now purchasing gluten-free products, the market has grown considerably.
“The past 12 months have been a very exciting time for us, with the rebrand to Newburn Bakehouse and the launch of the UK’s first gluten- and wheat-free wrap, as well as our expansion into the convenience and foodservice sectors.
