Artisan pitta bread producer Nina Bakery has released new product savoury pitta sticks.
Aimed at the catering and restaurant markets, the sticks are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. They come in two flavours, Wheat Za’atar and Whole Wheat. Za’atar is a Middle-Eastern spice mix including thyme, salt and sumac.
The stone-baked pittas are made with the minimum amount of yeast and have no added sugar or fat. They are supplied frozen and have a shelf life of 18 months.
Chief executive of Nina Bakery, Pierre Nehmeh, said: “Slow baked, our Pita Sticks offer a new and subtle taste sensation which will allow caterers to differentiate their offerings.”
Nina Bakery was founded in 1936 in Haifa, in modern-day Israel. The European arm of the business distributes from the Netherlands and the company can claim airlines Air France and Lufthansa and German theme park Europa-Park among its customers.
