From roast turkey, sausages, chicken, and bacon, to stuffing, cranberry sauce, and cheese… all the Christmas favourites are being wrapped up into grab-and-go bakery presents this festive season.
Although the flavours lean towards the classics, there’s a host of new carriers such as rye flatbread, Yorkshire pudding, or bread topped with sage & onion stuffing. Others showcase some interesting inclusions like Baharat-spiced turkey, Grana Padano shavings, parsnip fritters, or Brussels sprout slaw.
Check out our round-up of festive sandwiches from a dozen different retailers and suppliers:

Asda
Having welcomed a 5.6% year-on-year increase in sales of Christmas sandwiches in 2024, Asda is predicting to sell 50,000 more this year. To help with this target, the retailer has rolled out a trio of new festive lines.
The Three Little Piggies Half & Half Wrap (rsp: £2.88) offers the double delight of two different fillings: Hog Roast and Pigs Under Blankets. The first comprises pulled pork, apple sauce and sage & onion stuffing, while the second has sausage, bacon and sweet balsamic onion chutney.
There’s also the Pigs Under Blanket Sandwich (£2.86), which puts the sausage, bacon, and chutney, along with mayonnaise, inside slices of malted bread.
Lastly, Asda has created a Festive Ham & Brie Brioche Roll (£3.26) – a twist on the classic ham & cheese bap which is filled with cream cheese, brie, ham, spinach and lashings of cranberry chutney, all packaged up to look like ‘Santa’s belly’.
Leon
Heathier fast-food chain Leon has turned tradition on its head with its festive menu this year.
Among its introductions are the Twisted Trimmings Sandwich (rsp £8.99) featuring pulled turkey marinated in buttermilk and Baharat spices, rich apricot & pine nut stuffing, and grilled halloumi. These are all tucked inside a toasted stone-baked ciabatta, and finished with pickled red cabbage, honey mustard mayo, and a cranberry, pomegranate molasses & Aleppo pepper sauce.
The Veggie Twistmas Sandwich (£7.99) has the exact same composition but with turkey switched out for Baharat-roasted butternut squash.
Joe & The Juice
Danish juice bar and coffee shop brand Joe & The Juice says it is launching a first-of-its-kind festive sandwich inspired by classic Boxing Day turkey leftovers, available at all 88 of its UK sites up to 30 December.
The limited-edition Joe Ho Ho sandwich (rsp: £9.95, takeaway price) combines turkey, crunchy slaw, rocket, sage shallots, red cabbage ketchup, and gravy mayo with Joe’s signature Scandi-inspired fibre-rich rye flatbread.
Gail’s
It’s that time of year again, muses Gail’s, when turkey and pigs in blankets appear in every festive sandwich across café and supermarket shelves, as if we’ve all collectively agreed to eat nothing else for lunch until January. The high street bakery chain is mixing it up this year with two alternative festive options that are said to keep the flavours of the season but skip the repetition of cold cuts between two slices of wholemeal bread.
A newcomer is the Ham, Cheese & Stuffing Croissant (rsp: £5.80), which features a chestnut & sage stuffing béchamel topped with a redcurrant BBQ sauce. Back by popular demand is the Turkey, Chestnut & Ham Hand Pie (£5.70), a flaky cream-cheese pastry filled with smoked turkey, ham, sautéed leeks and chestnuts in rich béchamel.
Both are available at Gail’s 180-plus stores and online.
Paul UK
A festive classic with a French twist can be found in the Turkey & Bacon Christmas Club sandwich (rsp: £6.50), available at all of Paul’s UK stores across London, Reading, and Oxford until the end of the year. This contains layers of turkey and bacon, complemented by sweet cranberry sauce and horseradish mayo, served in an artisan sage and onion baguette and finished with shredded Brussels sprouts, red cabbage, and savoury stuffing.
A vegetarian-friendly item is the Brie & Cranberry Baguette (£6.45), with slices of creamy French Brie layered with vegetarian stuffing, shredded Brussel sprouts, grilled carrots and red cabbage, all brought together with tangy horseradish mayo on a bed of fresh spinach, topped with cranberry sauce.
Rogue Sarnies
The wood-fired sandwich specialist, which moved into a new 2,000 sq ft site in East London’s Bethnal Green area earlier this year, said it has noticed growing interest in how it bakes its own bread fresh every morning before service.
Its recently launched Christmas menu features the Festive Turkey Club (rsp: £12.50), made with wafer thin roasted turkey breast dipped in a rich gravy, sage & onion sausage stuffing, marinated winter tomatoes, sliced red onion, shredded gem lettuce, Grana Padano shavings and a secret club cranberry sauce.
An even more indulgently meaty sandwich is the Festive Beef Dip (£13.50), comprising sticky red wine braised beef shin mixed with beef fat caramelised onions, wood-fire roasted topside of beef sliced wafer thin and dipped in beef sauce, melted smoked cheddar, sliced cornichons, salted sweet white onions, and a global mix of favourite mustards.
Sandwich Sandwich
The family-run business has continued its estate expansion this year, opening its third London site on Tottenham Court Road in September after revealing an ambition to reach 25 in the capital within the next five years. It has also entered its first overseas market by unveiling a new franchise location in Dubai in October.
For Christmas 2025, it has brought back its Christmas Sandwich from last year whilst also creating two new menu items.
There’s the Hot Christmas Stack (rsp: £16.75) containing overnight-roasted turkey breast, smoked bacon, sticky pulled turkey thigh, fried sage & onion stuffing patty, crispy shallot crumble, cranberry sauce, and Heinz Seriously Merry Mayo, all inside a brioche bun and served with a pot of rich gravy.
For plant-based consumers, the Vegan Christmas Sandwich (rsp: £9.95) is filled with seasonal roasted parsnip and carrot, herby stuffing, cranberry jam, Heinz Seriously Merry Mayo in choice of white or granary bread and served with a rich vegan gravy dipping pot.
All sandwiches are available as gluten free options.

The global chain has unveiled a new sandwich for yuletide eats, which features brand-new bread as well.

The Italian-inspired deli, located on the corner of Electric Boulevard next to London’s Battersea Power Station, has crafted a seasonal sandwich packed with flavour and joy.
The Tozi Festive Sandwich (rsp: £12) features layers of roast turkey breast and confit leg with Brussels sprout slaw, herb stuffing, and a punchy cranberry ketchup, towered between freshly baked rye & seeded bloomer. It’s available at its store till Boxing Day (26 December).

Urban Eat
The food-to-go brand has decided to drop turkey from its Festive Feast sandwich this year, whilst maintaining the remaining filling line-up of chicken, sweetcure bacon, sage & onion stuffing, and tangy cranberry sauce.
Its also updated its vegetarian option from last year, changing out Red Leicester cheese for brie to pair with cranberry sauce and spinach. Both sandwiches are made with malted bread.
Urban Eat also embrace the spirit of Christmas with a charity initiative that has it partnering with Teenage Cancer Trust. For every festive pack sold, 10p will be donated (up to a maximum of £10k) to help fund the charity’s specialist nurses, youth workers, and hospital units supporting young people aged 13–24 diagnosed with cancer.
