The Phat Pasty Co has launched two halal products as part of its exotic range of pastries.
The Spicy Chicken Tikka and Moroccan Lamb Tagine flavoured pasties are both halal-approved.
The company said it launched the halal flavours so caterers could extend the range and choice for customers to meet the increasing demands and requirements of the marketplace.
The Moroccan Lamb Tagine Pasty joins the company’s Naked pasty range, which is ready to bake-off on-site.
The new Spicy Chicken Tikka Pasty is an addition to the Phat Wrapped range, which comes in Phat’s ‘cook-in-pack’ packaging, to appeal to grab-and-go operations.
Paul Clark, the Phat controller, said: “We have seen a move to more exotic and spicy flavours with customers wanting flavoursome fillings to tickle the taste buds – many caterers have requested halal-certified products to accommodate their customers’ needs and requests. These two new pasties are a great addition to the Phat family and fit right in with the ‘flavours from around the world theme’… all made in Cornwall!”
The new Phat Pasties are available nationally via Bidvest 3663.
