With Valentine’s Day just a few months away, Pidy has announced that it will be bringing out a bite-sized heart-shaped pastry range – named Apericoeur.
The buttery pastry range is suitable for both sweet and savoury or hot and cold fillings. For cold fillings the company recommends pre-baking the pastry cases at 160-170°C for six to eight minutes and, once cooled, adding a filling of choice. Alternatively, for a hot filling, load the pastry case beforehand and bake in the same way.
Paul Eason, chef and business development manager for Pidy UK, believes Valentine’s Day is a once-a-year opportunity to create something truly unique.
“Our new Apericoeur offers the perfect way to welcome happy couples to your restaurant, served as a canapé selection, he said.
“As part of a savoury sharing platter or to complement a dessert course, the wonderful heart shape and delicious, light pastry will really add something to that special Valentine’s offering.”
Pidy rolled out its first branded retail products to Ocado this month as part of its ambitions to become a recognised name with UK consumers.
