Gourmet chain Square Pie has launched a wholesale range of miniature pies.
Available through an exclusivity deal with supplier Brakes, Canapies, known as “three-bite pies”, are aimed at the event catering market and pub kitchens.
Flavours include chicken & mushroom, steak & ale, spinach, sweet potato & goat’s cheese, and chicken balti.
Martin Dewey, founder, said: “After launching Canapies at our five pie restaurants six months ago, we soon realised that their huge success and popularity was down to their wide versatility.
“It was a no-brainer to look to wholesale. We believe Canapies will work exceptionally well in a large number of vertical markets, ranging from pubs and bars, to hotels, restaurants, large and small events, and at student-focused venues.”
According to British Baker’s sister title, M&C Report, Canapies could soon become available in supermarkets as Dewey told consumers to “watch this space”.
Additionally, the business is looking to expand across the UK as it enjoys its “best year yet”, Dewey revealed. It aims to open two new stores this year, with further sites earmarked as part of a nationwide growth strategy.
