Pladis has added new flavours to four of the lines in its Mcvitie’s portfolio.
The new products include Chocolate-flavour Toasting Waffles, Moments White Choc & Raspberry Crunch, Club Honeycomb Cake Crunchies and a Hobnobs Peanut Butter Fudge Flapjack.
McVitie’s said its Chocolate-flavour Toasting Waffles (rsp £1.30/8-pack) were perfect for a quick and easy breakfast or as a snack on-the-go.
“On-the-go breakfast is a growing trend and exciting new products are helping fuel that growth,” said Claire Hooper, head of marketing for McVitie’s Cake Company at Pladis UK&I.
The Club Honeycomb Cake Crunchies and the Hobnobs Peanut Butter Flapjacks (rsp £1.65 each) are individually wrapped and available in packs of five.
The Moments White Choc & Raspberry Crunch (rsp £1.70), available in packs of four, are designed to make the coffee shop-style trend accessible at home, said Pladis.
‘‘We have invested in two of the biggest innovations the cake category has seen over the last two years – our McVitie’s Moments range was the biggest all-year-round innovation for the category in 2018 and our McVitie’s Cake Crunchies range is the biggest the cake bar category has had since 2017,” said Hooper.
“We’re excited to build on the momentum of these two fantastic snacking ranges with the launch of our new, on-trend flavours, each expected to achieve retail sales in excess of £1m in the first year.”
All of the NPD’s packaging is recyclable via Pladis’ partnership with Terracycle.
