Premier Foods has secured listings for its Mr Kipling and Cadbury Cakes with New Zealand supermarket business Progressive Enterprises.

Mr Kipling’s Bakewells and Cadbury’s mini rolls will be among those to be stocked in Progressive Enterprises’ 184 Countdown supermarkets across New Zealand all-year round.

The first Premier Foods products - festive Mr Kipling and Cadbury Cake lines - shipped into New Zealand a few months ago.

“This is yet another exciting step in our international strategy,” said Premier Foods’ international managing director Jette Andersen. “It follows close on the heels of a successful export strategy into the Australian market, which in the last year alone has seen our market share for Mr Kipling and Cadbury triple from 1.8% to 5.7%.

Premier Foods, which is aiming to deliver strong double-digit sales growth in its international business, this year renewed its licensing deal with Mondelēz International to produce Cadbury cakes. The deal will enable it to extend into potential new markets, including South Africa, Canada, Japan, China, India, Asia-Pacific, Caribbean and additional countries in the Middle East.

This week, the company extended Cadbury Cakes with a new Roses Bar range, which will feature flavours such as Strawberry Dream and Orange Crème.
