Premier Foods is getting into the Halloween spirit with the rollout of spooky Mr Kipling and Cadbury cakes.

Returning to shelves this year are three Mr Kipling lines: Fiendish Fancies, an orange-flavoured sponge coated in orange fondant; Chocolate & Slime Slices in snack-pack portions; and Toffee Terror Whirls.

Also returning this year, under the Cadbury cakes banner, are Cadbury Pumpkin Patch Cakes, Cadbury Cinder Toffee Cake Bars, Halloween packs of Mr Kipling Angel Slices and a party pack of 15 Cadbury Mini Rolls. A Pumpkin Patch Gateaux - a whole cake filled with orange crème, and topped with chocolate swirls and a giant pumpkin patch - will be available only in Asda.

The Cadbury range is being extended this year with the introduction of Cadbury Blackcurrant Mini Rolls.

“Last year the market’s top five best-selling Halloween cakes were from our Mr Kipling and Cadbury Cakes brands,” said Jess Ali, seasonal marketing controller for Mr Kipling and Cadbury Cakes at Premier Foods.

Retailers such as Asda and Marks & Spencer have recently unveiled their Halloween bakery NPDs, while McVitie’s also launched Halloween cake products under its Jaffa Cakes and Hobnobs brands.
