Cornish pasty manufacturer, Proper Cornish will renew its Pasty Society campaign this September, following last year’s success.
The pasty makers will tour several of the nation’s universities, including Goldsmiths, Sussex, Northumbria, Derby and Bournemouth during fresher’s week to offer samples and prizes for students in a chosen retro theme.
The tour will begin at Sussex University on Sunday 11 September and end at Bournemouth University on Friday 7 October.
The campaign has an 80s and 90s theme inspired by the popular game show Wheel of Fortune, features its very own Proper Cornish Wheel of Fortune.
Students can win a range of prizes, including a Proper Cornish pasty dinner and a hamper of Cornish food goodies.
Mark Muncey, marketing director for Proper Cornish, said: “We are really looking forward to getting the 2016 Pasty Society underway and can’t wait to see this year’s new students. We are excited to showcase our new products and give away plenty of traditional fare to hungry students as well.”
The tour aims to tap into the all-important student demographic, part of the company’s key millennial customer group. Proper Cornish will work with catering managers at universities to raise consumer brand awareness and feed hungry students some traditional Cornish pastry products.
Earlier this month, Proper Cornish established a Taste of Cornwall café at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club (GCCC).
