Pukka Pies has expanded its offering this month as part of its £6m new product and marketing investment this year.

The brand has added two new flavours to its chilled pies range, as well as launching a range of frozen sharing pies.

Pukka said the investment aims to further the brand’s ambition of growing its business to £60m by 2020.

The latest additions to the chilled range are a new recipe Steak & Ale Pie, which Pukka said has enhanced richness and quality of flavour, as well as a new vegetarian Leek and Potato Pie with Cheddar sauce, which taps the rising trend of flexitarian and meat-free diets.

“We are continually looking at how we can strengthen our range to meet the needs of consumers,” said Lindsay Filmer, head of marketing.

In the frozen category, Pukka has launched three flavours - Steak, Minced Beef & Vegetables and Chicken & Vegetable - which are made with the same pastry and ingredients as its chilled range.

The frozen sharing pies will be available to retailers and cash & carry outlets, with listings in selected Farmfoods stores from the end of September and selected Iceland stores from November (rsp £2.50).

The chilled pies (rsp £1.75) are available at Asda.
