It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – and if you want further evidence just take a glance at the nation’s coffee shop and bakery menus.

The savoury festive bakes and sandwiches are out in force, while sweet-toothed consumers will be spoilt for choice by treats including Dubai-style tiffin, Billionaires Snowflake and Morello cherry cake.

Here we round up new Christmas creations from some of the biggest names on the high street.

Caffè Nero

Caffè Nero has unveiled a host of new savoury and sweet items for the festive season including:

  • Porchetta & Balsamic Onion Chutney Flatbread (rsp: £6.45) – an Italian-inspired festive savoury featuring sliced porchetta ham, balsamic onion chutney and melted mozzarella, folded into an Italian flatbread
  • Festive Pork, Turkey and Cranberry Sausage Roll (£4.75) – British turkey, British pork and bacon, and cranberries wrapped in all-butter puff pastry and topped with a crackling crumb
  • Billionaires Snowflake (£4.25) – soft-set vanilla cheesecake topped with a layer of salted caramel, enrobed in dark chocolate and finished with a dusting of gold
  • Morello Cherry & Pistachio Cake (£4.15) – A triple-layered cake featuring sponge with a subtle pistachio flavour, pistachio frosting and a layer of morello cherry jam. Finished with more pistachio frosting and morello cherry jam, garnished with chopped pistachios and morello cherry pieces

Costa Coffee

Dubai-style tiffin and a Black Forest yule log are among the additions to Costa’s festive range.

Festive Flatbread (from £5.55): chicken breast with spiced red cabbage, sage & onion stuffing and cranberry sauce in a sage & onion flatbread.

Festive Feast Toastie (from £5.35): chicken breast with sage & onion stuffing and cranberry sauce in a garlic, onion & sage crumbed cheese-topped bread.

Chocolate Brownie Fudge Cake (from £3.90): topped with creamy chocolate frosting, and loaded with brownie pieces.

Also new to Costa’s festive sweet line-up are a Chocolate Brownie (from £2.80), Dubai-Style Speculoos Tiffin (from £3.30), Toffee Apple Crumble (from £2.80) and Black Forest Yule Log (from £3.05) with cherry filling and finished with a dusting of sugar.

“At Costa Coffee, Christmas is all about creating moments of connection and bringing people together,” says food & beverage Director Nishant Bhatia. “During one of the busiest times of the year, we’re proud to offer customers a place to pause, catch up with loved ones and enjoy a little festive comfort.”

Creams Café

Creams Cafés has brought backs its Goo Bakes (£7.25 ) – a combination of a freshly baked cookie, a molten flavoured centre, gelato and premium toppings - in three new flavours following their success last year:

  • Caramel Chunk: Choc chunk cookie with a molten caramel centre, vanilla gelato, Biscoff sauce, crumb and fudge cubes.
  • Pistachio Cherry: Pistachio cookie with cherry choc chunk gelato, pistachio sauce, pomegranate pieces and chocolate curls.
  • Double Choc S’mores: Warm chocolate brookie with white chocolate gelato, marshmallows, chocolate sauce and Biscoff crumb.

The business has also launched two new sharing plates (£5.75):

  • Cinnamon Roll Hearts: Warm, gooey cinnamon roll middles dusted with icing sugar, served with toffee sauce and soft serve.
  • Hot Choccy Pistachio Donut Bites: pistachio-filled chocolate donut bites dusted with icing sugar, drizzled with milk choc sauce and served with pistachio sauce.

“We want Creams to be the place people think of when they want a warm treat and a moment together during the colder months,” says Creams Café CEO Everett Fieldgate. “Whether it’s the aroma of cookies warming, a rich hot chocolate or sharing something indulgent with friends and family, this range is all about making winter a little sweeter.”

Gail’s

Gail’s has reworked two of its festive products and launched two brand-new options.

Toffee Madeleines (£2): New for 2026, these are made with a date-based batter, spiced with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and clove, and a hint of coffee. They are tossed in butterscotch sauce while still warm and finished with flaked salt.

Cavolo Nero Garlic & Pesto Bun (£5.50): Also new for 2026, this features brioche dough layered with cavolo nero and pecan pesto, ricotta, alpine Gruyère and spinach. It is finished with a Gruyère and sourdough breadcrumb coating and is brushed with garlic and herb butter.

Turkey & Swiss Cheese Sandwich (£7.80): A seasonal bestseller for Gail’s, this now uses shredded turkey thigh and breast in place of sliced turkey for better flavour and texture and is now served in a cream bun with bacon jam and chipotle mayonnaise, replacing the previous sliced-bread format.

Turkey Hand Pie (£5.70): This now has pulled turkey instead of diced, caramelised onions instead of leeks, and a spiced redcurrant glaze for colour, sweetness and a caramelised finish.

“Christmas is one of our favourite times to develop the menu because there’s so much nostalgia around the food people love,” says Gail’s. “The challenge is finding that balance between keeping the favourites everyone looks forward to and introducing something genuinely new.”

Greggs

Greggs’ development chefs have created a Santa’s sack full of new savoury and sweet treats, as detailed below.

Pigs Under Blankets Toastie (from £4.10): Smoked sweetcure bacon, pork sausage, Cheddar cheese, cranberry and red onion relish in a white bread made with sourdough, topped with béchamel and a blend of cheeses.

Festive Flatbread (from £3.75): Chicken, sweetcure bacon, sweetened dried cranberries, pork, sage & onion stuffing mixed with mayonnaise and sage and onion seasoning in a flatbread.

Pepperoni Pizza with Hot Honey (from £2.70): A focaccia base topped with cheese and pizza sauce, then finished with jalapenos, red onion and hot honey sauce.

Millionaire’s Doughnut (from £1.50): A ball doughnut with a caramel filling, salted caramel flavour icing, milk chocolate coated shortcake biscuit pieces and white chocolate flavour coating.

Sweet Mince Pie Roll (from £1): A puff pastry roll filled with a sweet mincemeat made from vine fruits, Bramley apples and candied orange and lemon peel, lightly dusted with icing sugar.

Greggs has also tweaked the recipe for its Festive Bake (from £2.50) by increasing the chicken content, upgrading the stuffing to a richer pork, sage, and onion mix and adding cream cheese in the sauce for a fuller flavour. “Balanced with a richer, crunchier, sea salt and black pepper crumb, every single bite delivers maximum festive feels,” says a spokesperson.

Pret

Headlining Pret’s 2026 line-up is its new Christmas Hot Baguette (£5.60) made with chicken, herby pork stuffing, Port & orange cranberry sauce and melted Grevé cheese.

Also new this year is the Triple Chocolate Crunch Loaf Cake (£3.50) for those who can never have too much chocolate, while the Jaffa Cake Loaf Cake is said to pair well with Pret’s new Chocolate Orange drinks.

“Christmas is our favourite time of year at Pret,” says UK marketing director. “Alongside the return of seasonal favourites, we’re excited to introduce our new Christmas Hot Baguette.”

Wenzel’s

Wenzel’s has created an Almond Mince Pie for this year’s festivities, promising to have taken ‘everything you love about the traditional festive favourite’ and topping it with almond frangipane.

Also new for 2026 is the Pigs in Blanket Hot Baguette, with Wenzel’s taking ‘a much-loved festive favourite and turning it into a proper lunchtime treat’.
