St Pierre Groupe has launched into home baking for the first time with sponge cake layers and sponge flan cases.
The manufacturer said the NPD was aimed at retail and foodservice, to make it easy for people to unleash their “inner Mary Berry”.
The Sponge Flan Cases are available in medium (100g) and large (200g) sizes and come ready baked to be filled and decorated.
The Sponge Layer Cakes are available in Classic and Chocolate variants and come in a 400g pack.
St Pierre Groupe said the launches answered the demand for products that offer convenience and ease of use for time-poor consumers.
“This new range is a particularly exciting addition to the Baker Street range as a step into a new category for the brand and it makes producing fabulous desserts quick and cost-effective for foodservice, and easy as pie for consumers to look like patisserie pros,” said Jeremy Gilboy, founder of St Pierre Groupe.
The launch follows Premier Foods-owned Mr Kipling rolling out its first home baking cake mixes and icing tubs last month.
