Doncaster-based Toppings Pies has struck a deal with Budgens, in a bid to spread further down south.
The pie company told British Baker it would have products in Bugdens’ new Crouch End concept store on trial, and after that hoped to roll out more products into stores throughout the UK.
Rodger Topping, managing director of the company, said: “We are very excited about the deal and it is a fantastic opportunity to get places further down south.”
The convenience store approached the pie-maker, and the products can be found in Crouch End next month.
So far, Toppings has listings in Booths stores and in Selfridges. So far, London Selfridges is its most southern stockist.
The company also won a listing with Ocado late last year, after developing a boxed and packaged range of products.
The bakery creates pork pies and quiches for both deli counters and retailers. It also has a seasonal and special occasion range.
