Village Bakery is seeking 20 extra staff for its new gluten-free site, which is set to open in December.
The company announced in June that it was to open a £12m gluten-free factory to ramp up its presence in the free-from category alongside the launch of its Gluten Freedom range.
It needs extra staff for the new bakery and to put two extra shifts on at its existing bakeries.
Village Bakery currently employs more than 400 people at its two bakeries on Wrexham Industrial Estate and at its HQ in Coedpoeth.
“Due to our expansion we are looking to put on two additional shifts and are also recruiting staff for when the new gluten-free bakery opens in December,” said Village Bakery HR manager Emma Stevens.
“These are exciting times at the Village Bakery and there are fantastic career prospects for people who are willing to work hard and apply themselves.”
To fill the posts, Village Bakery will be exhibiting at a careers fair being run by Wrexham Glyndŵr University, and will hold open days for job seekers who are unable to attend the fair.
The company recently changed its rate of pay so that new recruits earn £8.50 an hour initially, and then £8.75 following the successful completion of a probationary period.
Last month, Village Bakery won the Free-from Bakery Product of the Year category at the Baking Industry Awards with its Made without Wheat Belgian Chocolate Twists produced for Marks & Spencer.
