Waitrose has joined the bakery hybrid trend with the yumdough.
The combination of a yum yum and a doughnut, the yumdough will be available from the bakery counter at 40 Waitrose branches from today.
The hybrid is available in four flavours: chocolate & orange, lemon, butterscotch and raspberry & vanilla.
Each yumdough is made from dough, which has 144 layers, topped with sugar icing with pockets of filling and fondant.
Tim Stevens, bakery buyer for Waitrose, said: “Our customers will love this delicious combination of two of their favourite sweet treats on the bakery counter. Our customers love to try something new and we think they’ll find the yumdough lip-smackingly good.”
Each yumdough has a RRP of £1.49, and will be sold with an introductory offer of 25% off.
