UK supermarket Waitrose has recalled its 150g Orange and Milk Chocolate Cookies, with a best-before date of 30 March 2017 over concerns that some of the packs may contain hazelnuts.
The retailer has taken a precautionary measure to recall the product after failing to declare that hazelnut is an ingredient on the packaging.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has urged customers who have a nut allergy not to consume the product and to return to their nearest Waitrose store – where they will receive a full refund.
A statement from Waitrose said: “We apologise to customers for this error. For further information, customers should call Waitrose Customer Services Department on 0800 188884.”
Earlier this month, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s recalled some of their chilled desserts as they could have contained flakes of metal.
