Waitrose has unveiled a new twist on the breakfast muffin – a cheese & black pepper version.
Available now, the muffins are described by the retailer as “destined to liven up the morning” by offering “the perfect mix of tangy and savoury mature cheddar with cracked black pepper”. The muffins are sold in four-packs, priced at £1.50.
Waitrose has also extended its bakery line-up with a pack of nine Mini Lemon Fruited Buns (priced: £1.69) following the success of the retailer’s mini hot cross buns at Easter.
Earlier this week, Waitrose claimed a first for UK supermarkets with the launch of a new, easier- to-recycle sandwich wrapper. The supermarket said this was being achieved by making the cardboard sandwich packaging easy to separate from the plastic film, which isn’t recyclable.
Waitrose is aiming to make all its own-label packaging recyclable, reusable or home compostable by 2025.
